Dr CARLOS GARCIA NUÑEZ

Hi everyone, and welcome to my personal website! My name is Carlos Garcia Nuñez and I am an experimental physicist with more than 15 years’ experience in the field of Semiconductor Nanowires & Thin Films for their application in Optoelectronics, Sensors, and Energy Systems. I am a lecturer in electronics and nanoscale engineering at the James Watt School of Engineering at the University of Glasgow. I am also a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (HEA), a Member of the Institute of Physics (MInstP), an Industry Fellow of the Royal Society and a Member of the Society of Spanish Researchers in the UK (SRUK).
Since 2010, I have been investigating new advanced materials in the shape of thin films and low-dimensional structures, including nanowires and 2D materials (graphene) and studying nano-fabrication methods (e.g dielectrophoresis, contact-printing, and optical tweezers) for different applications, comprising optoelectronics, sensors, photovoltaic cells, flexible electronic skin, and energy storage devices and energy harvesters, as well as optical coatings for gravitational waves detection.
On this website, you will find a summary of my research experience and my personal view about state-of-the-art nanotechnology and self-powered technology, including my recent Publications, contributions to International Conferences, and information about coming events and news.
See you all on my site!
