Dr CARLOS GARCIA NUÑEZ

Hi everyone, and welcome to my personal website! My name is Carlos Garcia Nuñez. I am Lecturer in Physics at the University of the West of Scotland (UWS), Affiliate Lecturer at the University of Glasgow, Higher Education Academy (HEA) Fellow, Member of the Institute of Physics (MInstP), Royal Society Short Industry Fellow and Junior Member of the society of Spanish Researchers in the United Kingdom (SRUK). I am also a Material Scientist in Sensors, Electronics, Optoelectronics and Energy Systems at the Institute of Thin Films, Sensors & Imaging (TFSI) at the School of Computing, Engineering and Physical Sciences (CEPS) at UWS.
Since 2010, I have been investigating new advanced materials in the shape of thin films and low-dimensional structures, including nanowires and 2D materials (graphene) and studying nanofabrication methods (e.g dielectrophoresis, contact-printing, and optical tweezers) for different applications, comprising optoelectronics, sensors, photovoltaic cells, flexible electronic skin, and energy storage devices and energy harvesters, as well as optical coatings for gravitational waves detection.
On this website, you will find a summary of my research experience and my personal view about state-of-the-art nanotechnology and self-powered technology, including my recent Publications, contributions to International Conferences, and information about coming events and news.
See you all on my site!
